The Code School Screencasting Framework

Have you ever wanted to create polished screencasts for your business or open source project? We're here to make it easy. Below you'll find the free video and other downloads which will show you how to produce high quality screencasts without the need to hire a professional. Why did we put out all this information for free? We'd like to see more screencaster producing and teaching in our community.

Oh, and we're hiring!

We're looking for a few producers who can follow our framework and help us produce content for Code TV. These select few will join our team and get paid to create technical screencasts for Code TV subscribers. Sound interesting? Wanna give it a try? Follow the steps below to get started!

• Read or watch the presentation

  The video in the upper right will walk you through everything you need to know. We've even created a guide which contains all the same information if you prefer to read it. To watch the video offline, here's a Low Res (266 mb) and a High Res (833 mb) version.

• Download the theme

  Use the framework to create an audition screencast. It should either be on a Rails, jQuery, or HTML/CSS topic. Feel free to email us an outline if you want to get approval before you start building it.

• Send us the episode for review

  Email us a URL where we can download the compressed Screenflow or Camtasia file. Expect to receive some feedback on how to improve the screencast. If the screencast is good enough we'll help you publish it and get you on the schedule to start producing paid screencasts.
