When you enroll in Code School, the benefits don't stop at courses. Here are some of the features that come with your subscription:
New Content Regularly
Whether it’s new courses, screencasts, podcasts, or blog posts, we're always releasing new content to quench your programming thirst.
Take your learning on the go by streaming or downloading course videos directly from your iPhone or iPad.
No matter where you listen, we've got your tech news covered with weekly Ruby5, FiveJS, and iOS Bytes podcasts.
Earn Badges and Points
Rack up points as you move through challenges, win badges as you complete course levels, and then show them off on your Code School Report Card.
Make Learning Fun
Each course features a unique theme and storyline so you feel like you're playing a game, not sitting in a classroom.
If you're ever stuck on a course or challenge, our community forum is always there to help — you've got questions, they’ve got answers.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a free account and a paid account?
A free account gives you access to our 10 introductory courses, whereas a paid subscription gives you unlimited access to all of our courses and screencasts.
Is Code School a recurring subscription?
Yes. Code School is set up as a recurring monthly subscription service, but you can cancel at any time. You will be charged each month on the day you signed up.
Can I pay yearly and save some cash money?
Yep! When you enroll for a year, you save $58 — essentially getting two months for free.
Can an absolute beginner use Code School?
Yes! We have several introductory courses in the beginning of each Path. We've also created a page to show you where to get started.
Can I pause my account if I am not using it?
Absolutely — you can pause your account and come back to it whenever you're ready for more learning.
Do you offer any student, military, or non-profit discounts?
We do offer discounts to students, military personnel, and non-profit organizations. That runs $19 per month. Verifying eligibility is a tough thing to automate, though, so just open a private discussion with us and we can get you set up.
